January 2020 Dances

We are excited to start 2020 on the right foot, or the left foot for some of you. Join us on January 7th as we start Beginner Month at Gem City Swing. Our January dances will be held on the 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th at the American Czechoslovakian Club (922 Valley St, Dayton, OH 45404). The beginner lesson starts at 7:30 PM, the series lesson starts at 7:00 PM, and the social dance starts at 8:00 PM. Entry to the social dance is $5 and includes a free beginner lesson. The series lesson is $10 and includes the social dance.

2019 Holiday Dance

Mark your calendars! Gem City Swing will have it’s annual holiday dance on December 17th, 2019. We have Dave Greer and his Classic Jazz Stompers to play amazing tunes for us at the American Czechoslovakian Club (922 Valley St, Dayton, OH 45404) too. We’ll have food and dress up nice for this special dance! The beginner lesson starts at 7:30 PM, the series lesson starts at 7:00 PM, and the social dance starts at 8:00 PM. Because of the live band this week, the dance will cost $10. The series lesson will cost $15. Taking either of the lessons will get you into the social dance for free!

Starting on October 8th, the beginner lesson will start at 7:00 PM. Entry to the social dance is $5 and includes a free beginner lesson. The series lesson is $10 and includes the social dance.

On the 29th, we are happy to announce that we will have a live band for our special Halloween themed dance. We’ll also be dancing until 10:00 PM for the special occasion. On that night only, the price increases by $5 to $10 and $15.

May is beginner month!

IT’S BEGINNER MONTH!! If you’ve thought it would be fun to try swing dancing, now’s the time! Come join us every Tuesday in May at 7:00 PM for our beginner series followed by a social dance to practice your new moves. The beginner lesson is an hour long from 7:00 to 8:00, the social dance is from 8:00 to 9:30, and the cover is $5 at the door. No partner or previous experience required.
